Rainwater Harvesting is an old but effective technique for gathering rainwater in the rainy season to fulfill various objectives in the future. It is often used in different places in India to emerge from the problem of water scarcity. The best way to recharge the groundwater level naturally is to store Rainwater.
Tamilnadu is the pioneer in the Rainwater harvesting system by launching the rainwater harvesting movement in 2001. This movement had a tremendous impact on recharging the groundwater table all over Tamilnadu. Mainly it follows the Rooftop Rainwater Harvesting system where the roof becomes the catchments and the Rainwater is collected from the roof of the house/building. It can either be stored in a tank or diverted to an artificial recharge system.
Through this rainwater harvesting system, the groundwater level got highly increased during rainy days, and it satisfies the need during summer.
So, on following the Government’s mandate as well as our motto we are analyzing the different techniques to be followed for rainwater harvesting and also implementing it according to the situated environment.
